About The Position

Proof Kitchen & Bar is looking for a Prep Cook to join our culinary team. This role is essential in ensuring smooth kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, assisting with basic cooking tasks, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The ideal candidate has a passion for food, strong attention to detail, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

1+ years of experience in a professional kitchen (preferred but not required).
Basic knowledge of food preparation, knife skills, and kitchen equipment.
Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions.
Team player with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects as needed.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

Prepare and portion ingredients according to recipes and kitchen standards.
Chop, slice, and dice vegetables, meats, and other ingredients as needed.
Assist chefs with basic cooking and food preparation tasks.
Ensure all ingredients are properly stored, labeled, and rotated to maintain freshness.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas, storage, and workstations.
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines in compliance with health regulations.
Assist in stocking and organizing kitchen supplies.
Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient operations.
Support line cooks and other kitchen staff as needed.
Follow all opening and closing procedures as directed by the kitchen leadership team.
