About The Position

The Prep Cook will work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure the efficient and effective preparation of all menu items for events. Although primarily based in one kitchen, the Prep Cook will also be expected to monitor carving stations and assist in addressing questions from fellow staff members when required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years experience in a high-volume food establishment.
  • Must be available on weekends.
  • Ability to take direction from the Chef, Production Leader, and Event Leadership.
  • Capable of working positively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to be on your feet and alert for extended periods.
  • Ability to work effectively without close supervision.
  • Basic to intermediate English communication skills required.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Ability to push/pull/lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
  • Must have continuous use of hands and arms.
  • Drug-Free Workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Chef in prepping and cooking all required menu items.
  • Ensure all food items are cooked and prepared to specification.
  • Follow proper food handling and sanitation standards.
  • Step out of the kitchen as needed to oversee carving stations or address staff queries.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Coordinate tasks and timing with other team members.
