The Role: The VIP Prep Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking all food items for the VIP lounge and box seat areas during events.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of high-volume kitchen operations
  • Knowledge of food preparation, food spoilage, and proper food storage
  • Knowledge of kitchen sanitation
  • Ability to use all kitchen equipment safely
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as a team
  • Ability to work late hours
  • Strong attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Three or more years of experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment
  • Experience in a live music environment

Responsibilities

  • Organize and prioritize preparation of food items
  • Prepare food according to standardized recipes
  • Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish
  • Coordinate food preparation with other kitchen staff
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and proper sanitation
  • Maintain food display and presentation standards
  • Ensure safe operation of kitchen equipment and appliances
  • Maintain line of sight/atmosphere control by circulating through work area and reporting any issues encountered
  • Ensure proper rotation of all food items, including FIFO (first in, first out)
  • Ensure all food items are stored in proper containers and at proper storage and holding temperatures
  • Keep all work areas clean and free of debris
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies
  • Operate kitchen equipment including ovens, broilers, grills, dishwashing equipment, etc.
  • Perform all opening and closing duties
  • Assist other employees as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
