About The Position

The prep cook is responsible for preparing for the dishes that will be served. This includes chopping, breaking down, cutting, or grinding, weighing and mixing ingredients, washing and preparing vegetables, storing and more in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with proper food handling techniques. _____________________________________________________________________________ Essential functions: Prep all food items in an efficient and timely manner adhering to proper food handling technique and ensuring quality food standards. Follow strict recipes to control production and maintain consistency and freshness. Adhere to safe food handling, cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards. Prepares food with proper safety equipment, tools and recipe specs. Ensure efficient flow of food dishes with an emphasis on portion control, quality, presentation and temperature control. Break down and store all leftover. Clean as you go and follow proper daily sanitation checklists. Maintain all perishables at the proper temperature. Assist in prep work as required for the next shift. Assist culinary team as situations arise Put away stock when necessary using FIFO (first in, first out) Adhere to hotel grooming standards. Perform any additional tasks requested by management. $500 Sign-on Bonus. You will receive $250 upon a successful 30 day completion and $250 upon 60 day completion of employment. QualificationsQualifications: Education: No formal education required. Experience: at least one (1) year of experience cooking experience. Skills and abilities: Knowledge of knife skills, sanitation and cooking methods. Knowledge of sanitation codes concerning food storage and cross contamination. Knowledge of proper cooking methods Hours required: Scheduled days and time vary based on hotel needs. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
