About The Position

The Prep Cook is responsible for cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc. The Prep Cook undertakes basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc. Prepare simple dishes such as salads, and entrees. Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of experience as a prep cook preferred
  • Must have two years of sobriety prior to hire, if recovering from a substance use disorder and participate in a self-help program.
  • Demonstrates Proficiency in Communication, observation & Written skills.
  • Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Client Confidentiality laws.
  • Knowledge of Drug-Free Workplace Policies.
  • Knowledge of Workplace Violence.
  • Knowledge of Corporate Integrity & Ethics

Responsibilities

  • Assist the chef with the orderly storage and cleanliness of all areas and items within the kitchen, dining room, and other food storage, meal service, and refuse disposal areas.
  • Correctly and appropriately utilizes approved cleaning agents within all food preparation, storage and refuse disposal areas.
  • Utilize appropriate care and safety of all kitchen equipment.
  • Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties.
  • Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible.
  • Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking.
  • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.

  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
  • Protect the privacy of all client information in accordance with GRNH, LLC’s privacy policies, procedures, and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principle of professionalism as a healthcare provider.
  • Failure to comply with the company’s policies and procedures on client privacy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
  • Expected to report, without the threat of retaliation, any concerns regarding GRNH, LLC’s policies and procedures on client privacy and any observed practices in violation of the policy to their supervisor.
  • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
