About The Position

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED a plus but not required
  • Previous experience a plus
  • A thorough and deep understanding of professional cooking including basic techniques and working food knowledge.
  • Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
  • Previous prep or line cook experience.
  • Professional communications skills are required

Responsibilities

  • Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
  • Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the chef or restaurant
  • Assist line cook and banquet chef in production of assigned tasks
  • Prepares soups, roasts, sauces, vegetables, mixtures, entrees' for restaurants and banquets
  • Set up, restock and maintain food preparation areas
  • Cleans and maintains stations in practicing good safety, sanitation, organizational skills
  • Has understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in the station
  • Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas
  • Comply with quality and food safety standards
  • Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the Chef, and Sous Chef at any time
