Requirements

High School Diploma/GED a plus but not required
Previous experience a plus
A thorough and deep understanding of professional cooking including basic techniques and working food knowledge.
Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
Previous prep or line cook experience.
Professional communications skills are required

Responsibilities

Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the chef or restaurant
Assist line cook and banquet chef in production of assigned tasks
Prepares soups, roasts, sauces, vegetables, mixtures, entrees' for restaurants and banquets
Set up, restock and maintain food preparation areas
Cleans and maintains stations in practicing good safety, sanitation, organizational skills
Has understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in the station
Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas
Comply with quality and food safety standards
Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the Chef, and Sous Chef at any time
