About The Position
Assists in the preparation of the delicious dishes created within the community dining room kitchen. All prep cooks should be quick and diligent multitaskers with a willingness to improve and excel on the job. This role works in a fast-paced, busy environment and requires teamwork. United Zion is seeking a dedicated Prep Cook to join our culinary team to provide exceptional care for residents.
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Language Proficiency: Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safe food handling, sanitation-, Serve-Safe-, HAACP standards, and infection control.
- Understand and assist in the delivery of special diets ordered by the physician.
- Basic computer skills, customer service, and familiarity with therapeutic diets.
Nice To Haves
- 2 – 3 years’ experience in institutional food production
- 2 years’ experience in institutional cooking
- 1 year experience in supervising people
