Sedgebrook is seeking a hospitality focused Prep Cook to join our team! This
position is responsible for full-scope, hands on production cooking in the
Community Culinary Services Department, including maintaining a superior level
of quality service and cleanliness at all times.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one-year experience in food preparation.
• Food Service Sanitation certification or ability to obtain one after employment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. independently.
• Must be able to stand or walk for up to 8 hours per day.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, and stretch frequently throughout the day.
• Must be able to see, hear, and communicate with others.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing all food products as scheduled, to include regular lunch and dinner service and any catering or other special functions using production sheets and approved recipes.
• Properly presents all food items and provides maximum appeal and freshness.
• Follows HACCP procedures and practices.
• Maintains kitchen sanitation and equipment cleaning schedule.
• Follows proper handling, preparation and holding guidelines, takes temperatures at regular intervals, and maintains sufficient quantities of food while being careful to avoid over-production and waste.
• Communicates appropriately with all dining services staff, supervisors, and listens effectively.
