About The Position

Welcome to Tampa Bay Joint & Spine. Tampa Bay Joint and Spine Surgery Center was formed by a group of local surgeons to offer easily accessible outpatient care to Clearwater and the surrounding communities. The goal of any outpatient surgical visit is to provide the patient with a comfortable environment that focuses on their safety, supports the surgeon with the newest equipment, experienced staff, and results in a successful surgical outcome. Patients appreciate being able to recover in the comfort of their own home surrounded by family and friends. The PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
  • Active RN license in the state.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required; PALS if required by the center.
  • 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
  • Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
  • Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians in procedure rooms with various tasks.
  • Administer conscious sedation and utilize sterile techniques as appropriate.
  • Provide comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from anesthesia.
  • Conduct assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
