About The Position

Inova McClean Ambulatory Surgery Center is currently hiring a Part-Time, PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse to become an integral member of our team, delivering unparalleled care to our patients. We are licensed, Medicare certified, and AAAHC accredited. WORK SCHEDULE: Days - 2x10 Day shift only, no nights, weekends, call, or holidays

Requirements

One or more years of PACU/Critical Care nursing experience in an ambulatory surgery setting or acute hospital
Graduate from an accredited nursing institution
Current licensure in Virginia as a Registered Nurse
Current BLS certification

Nice To Haves

Prior PreOp and PostOp experience in an ASC is strongly desired
ACLS/PALS certification preferred within six (6) months of date of hire

Responsibilities

Care for surgical patients as they recover from anesthesia
Monitor and chart vital signs, such as heart or respiratory rate, blood pressure, or oxygen level
Comfort patients as they wake; may be required to gently restrain patients
Check surgical site for excessive bleeding or swelling
Educate patients on care for the surgical wound or other post-discharge care.
Cross-train to work in PreOperative area to meet the needs of the unit
