About The Position
The Preop/PACU Nurse Manager is a vital role within a fast-paced, multi-specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center located in Melville, NY. This full-time position operates Monday to Friday, with varied hours, and does not require working on weekends or holidays. The Nurse Manager will oversee the Preoperative and Post-Anesthesia Care Units, ensuring efficient patient flow and high-quality clinical management. The role demands flexibility in working hours, as the Nurse Manager may need to work later depending on the completion of surgical cases each day. The center specializes in various surgical procedures, including orthopedics, cataracts, ocular plastics, ENT, GYN, pain management, and general surgery. The Nurse Manager will be responsible for scheduling and hiring staff, managing patient flow, and floating between the Preop and PACU units as needed. This position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to coordinate clinical activities effectively across both units. Candidates must have prior experience in a hospital or Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) management role, along with necessary certifications such as BLS, ACLS, and PALS (the latter must be obtained within six months of hire).
