About The Position

USPI Paso Del Norte is seeking a motivated PreOp PACU Charge Nurse to join our team. We have 5 OR rooms and 1 Treatment room. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Anesthesia, ENT, General, GI, Ortho, OB/GYN, Pain, Plastic, Podiatry. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the Preop/PACU staff to provide a daily smooth flow of cases.
• Prepares monthly schedules.
• Prepare, coordinate and perform monthly staff meetings
• Communicate effectively with physicians to resolve issues and provide efficiency and smooth case flow.
• Assists with education by coordinating and/or giving in-services.
• Prepare schedules in the afternoon for next day.
• Communicate with vendors and representatives for supplies, equipment or instruments
• Works closely with Materials and Sterile Processing Dept to coordinate supplies & instrument needs.
• Preparing and administering annual evaluations
• Works closely with manager with hiring and orienting Preop/PACU staff members
• Helps in revising and preparing policies that relate to Preop/PACU functions
• Assistance in maintaining compliance for Joint Commission surveys
• Enters company data collections and observations with company EDGE
• MIDAS data entry.
• Enters data into Kronos time keeping program
• Assistance with staff counseling as necessary
• Coordinates and assists in Performance Improvement Projects.
