About The Position

Join AmTrust Insurance’s Premium Audit Team! The Premium Auditor is responsible for conducting virtual audits of moderate complexity to ensure the accuracy of earned premium risk calculations. This role supports AmTrust’s various lines of business with a focus on Workers Compensation and General Liability. This role verifying premium base exposures in accordance with policy terms, manual rules, company filings, and procedures. The auditor plays a key role in delivering exceptional service through a flexible auditing approach that leverages technology and remote collaboration. This position upholds AmTrust’s mission, vision, and values while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and accuracy. The salary range for this role is $60,000 - $75,000 a year. Base pay offered may vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics. This range may be modified in the future.

Requirements

  • 1 or more years of premium audit experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline OR equivalent experience.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent Excel skills are required.
  • Strong, analytical, and critical, thinking skills, excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities, effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates in Premium Audit Program (APA) certification preferred OR working towards APA certification.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates high-level proficiency in performing premium audits for Workers Compensation and General Liability policies with minimal supervision.
  • Utilizes secure digital platforms and remote communication tools to conduct virtual audits, ensuring efficiency and accuracy while minimizing disruption to insureds.
  • Manage audits within assigned regions, primarily for virtual audits.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for assigned audits, collaborating with insureds, underwriters, and producers.
  • Identifies, researches, and resolves policy issues discovered during the audit process.
  • Validates correct classification of exposures in accordance with regulatory agencies, independent state bureaus, and company procedures by reviewing financial records and other relevant documentation—often through secure digital exchange.
  • Proficient at identifying who is subject to the Work Compensation Act.
  • Reviews audit results with stakeholders via virtual meetings
  • May provide technical guidance and mentorship to lower-level positions.
  • Maintains excellent customer service throughout the audit lifecycle, whether conducted virtually.
  • Stays current with manual rules, industry trends, and understanding of the impact of underwriting endorsements.
  • Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
