The Premium Audit Representative contacts Markel Commercial policyholders across the country as well as our audit vendor. The Premium Audit Representative conducts telephone calls to policyholders and audit vendor to assist them in returning or completing their assigned audits, as well as notifying them of their deadline. Representatives will be responsible for assisting Premium Audit Specialists and our Customer Service Department to assure the audits are returned with information that meets company standards and timeframes. The Premium Audit Representative will assist with locating contact information for the policyholders and the policyholder’s agent. Begin your insurance career in the Markel Premium Audit Department! This is a fast‑paced, highly rewarding entry‑level position. The Premium Audit Representative is responsible for conducting telephone and email outreach to policyholders and audit vendors to support the completion and return of premium audits by required deadlines. The Premium Audit Representative also assists other Markel team members within the Premium Audit and Customer Service departments, particularly by locating and verifying policyholder and agent contact information.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in an auditing, review, or checks‑and‑balances function
  • High school diploma required, bachelor's degree preferred
  • Ability to work independently and effectively organize and prioritize workload
  • Proven ability to succeed in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong communication skills; speaks clearly, concisely, and enjoys business writing
  • US Work Authorization

Responsibilities

  • Complete outbound calls and email correspondence with policyholders in a timely manner regarding audit completion and general inquiries
  • Communicate written and verbal information clearly, efficiently, and appropriately
  • Accurately document all contacts and activities within internal systems
  • Assist Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) with general questions related to audit documentation requirements
  • Approve audit deadline extensions in accordance with department guidelines
  • Perform basic policy audits after successful completion of required training and assigned duties
