Position Summary Pre-Make Ready Technicians are responsible for managing the workflow of plates prior to the run and critiquing plate condition and storage after the press run. Must maintain pre-make ready supplies needed for making sure the Flexo Press does not accrue down-time.

Requirements

  • Basic technical understanding of department needs and press setup.
  • Open-minded and willing to learn new ideas.
  • Able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers at all knowledge levels.
  • Accurate attention to detail.
  • Reliability and positive attitude.
  • Must have team mentality with press crew.
  • Working understanding of plating knowledge.
  • Basic math and communication skills.
  • High School/GED diploma, previous years experience.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Access to filing system for proofs and plates with continual communication with the Pre-press Technician
  • Mount plates. Alert production of availability.
  • Create and manage a status/workflow report to track the progress and location of mounted plates.
  • Advise according to schedules and current plate materials, inventory and reorder needs.
  • Document and track records of all ancillary equipment.
  • Clean and maintain ancillary:
  • Anilox Rollers
  • Doctor Blade Assembly
  • Ink pumps
  • Load modules.
  • Assist in Press Makeready.
  • Manage area and keep clean.
  • Maintain ink pumps.
