About The Position

Edgewood ISD is seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable individual to join our team as a PreK Teacher. This position requires a passion for teaching, a deep understanding of the assigned subject matter, and the ability to inspire and motivate students. We are a 3A school district located just east of Dallas on Highway 80. Edgewood ISD is committed to academic excellence with strong community support and well-supported, well-funded classrooms. Requirements

  • Knowledge of the core academic subject assigned
  • Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
  • Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements

Nice To Haves

  • ESL Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Instruction & Planning: Develop and implement standards-aligned lesson plans using effective instructional strategies, technology, and accommodations to meet diverse student needs.
  • Assessment & Student Growth: Conduct ongoing formal and informal assessments to monitor achievement, adjust instruction, and support individual learning styles, including IEP modifications.
  • Classroom Environment & Management: Create a safe, positive, and structured learning environment that supports students’ academic, physical, social, and emotional development, while managing behavior in accordance with district guidelines.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work collaboratively with colleagues, special education staff, parents, and community members to support instructional goals and maintain open, professional communication.
  • Professional Responsibilities: Participate in staff development, fulfill extracurricular and committee duties, maintain required documentation, and comply with district, state, and board policies.
