Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) The Canton Public Schools is seeking a BCBA. This position is split between the Rodman PreK program and the JFK Elementary School. Purpose/Value of Position: BCBAs are an integral part of the Canton Public School System. Staff hired to provide Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) support, services, and interventions to students are directly supervised by the BCBA. The evaluation of student needs and the design of the programs that will assist student learning and growth will be conducted and written by the BCBA. Whether a student is determined to have behavioral challenges and/or an Autism Spectrum Disorder, BCBAs will be called upon to work with staff to develop and implement programs for students. Students who need and are provided with BCBA consult and ABA services will learn the skills necessary to more fully participate in school and become more independent lifelong learners. BCBA’s will have: Solid knowledge of the principles and practice of Applied Behavior Analysis. This includes general behavioral assessment and Ethical Standards in Behavior Analysis. Solid knowledge of the behavioral impact of developmental disabilities, as well as the cognitive, educational, vocational, and social challenges encountered by persons with developmental disabilities. Effective written and verbal communication skills with individuals and groups at all professional levels. Effective and creative negotiator and problem solver.
