About The Position

Eaton’s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Preform Operator - Day Shift to join our team in Middlesex, NC! This a daylight position that will work 4 10-hour shifts: 6 am - 4:30 pm, M-Th. The hourly rate for this position is $19.50 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. The Preform Operator is esponsible for maintaining certain levels of work in process including Teflon blending, preforming, carbon blending and 6 inch preform to ensure high quality material and healthy levels of work in progress for next operation. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).   • Basic shop math skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Good problem-solving, prioritization and decision-making skills, and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Ability to learn computer transactions and successfully operate production equipment
  • Ability to work in environment that is 50 – 60 degrees F
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds unaided with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 6 months of manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with computer transactions in ERP system
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in aerospace manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Weigh or measure materials, ingredients, or products to ensure conformance to requirements.
  • Compound or process ingredients or dyes, according to formulas.
  • Observe production or monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Mix or blend ingredients by starting machines and mixing for specified times.
  • Dump or pour specified amounts of materials into machinery or equipment.
  • Operate or tend machines to mix or blend any of a wide variety of materials.
  • Add or mix chemicals or ingredients for processing, using hand tools or other devices, including but not limited to scales, hoists, temperature probes, and brushes
  • Stop mixing or blending machines when specified product qualities are obtained and open valves and start pumps to transfer mixtures.
  • Examine materials, ingredients, or products visually or with hands to ensure conformance to established standards.
  • Transfer materials, supplies, or products between work areas, using moving equipment or hand tools, including but not limited to drum lifts, pallet jacks, elevator and conveyor.
  • Record operational or production data on specified forms.
  • Unload mixtures into containers or onto conveyors for further processing.
  • Perform duties relative to production in the assigned area and is able to operate all equipment and machinery in the assigned area.
  • Produce a quality product, safely, on-time, and with the least cost possible.
  • Review work orders, specifications or instructions to determine material, ingredients, procedures, components and settings.
  • Accurately complete computer transactions as necessary (labor & scrap transactions, inventory disbursements & cycle counts, expense items, etc.).
  • Participate in cell/team activities including, but not limited to, team meetings, problem-solving, Kaizen events, etc.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work environment through effective housekeeping, 5S+ and TPM practices
  • Follow all plant, safety, and environmental rules and regulations. Support plant lean, safety, quality and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Model the Eaton ethical conduct policy, Eaton leadership Model, the Eaton Values and Philosophy, and comply with all other corporate, plant, and regulatory policies and regulations as applicable.
  • Perform all other duties as required.
