About The Position

PCI is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager for its PCI Des Moines 587 operations based in Des Moines, IA. This individual will be responsible for the following duties:
Performing quantitative takeoffs on construction projects
Establish labor productivities for estimate.
Maintain positive relationships with area vendors for competitive material and equipment pricing.
Responsible for the buyout of subcontractors
Accountable for results to meet business objectives for revenue and margin.
Build solid customer relations with all customers.
Build customer relations through events, gatherings, and outings.
Assign bids and coordinates bid calendar.
Oversite of the estimating department.
Uses available technology to perform job tasks efficiently.
Creates strong morale and spirit in their team and defines success in terms of the whole team.
This role is safety-sensitive.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years’ experience as a senior estimator or preconstruction manager
• Experience with commercial interior construction; metal stud, drywall, acoustical ceiling, exterior framing, and raised access floors scopes of work.
• Working knowledge of all PCI applications including Quick Bid and On-Screen Takeoff.
• Ability to work with numerous contractors and sub-contractors in an efficient manner.
• Strong ability to read, understand and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI’s scopes of work.
• High level of attention to detail and cost analysis.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to learn new job skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught.
• Ability to train, motivate, and inspire those around them.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science or Construction Management.
• Experience with working with union representatives is preferred.
