About The Position

Precision Turn/Mill Machinist, Aerospace Gears Do you turn complex prints into flawless parts? TekPro is partnering with a top-tier producer of aerospace and defense power transmission components to hire 2 precision CNC lathe machinists . If you enjoy leading setups, editing code at the control, and solving problems across multiple machine brands in a modern, 150,000 sq. ft., air-conditioned facility, this is your next step. Challenge You’re handed a work order with tight GD&T, OP. drawings, and a quality plan. From selecting jaws and tooling to proving out the first article, you own the process—measuring, adjusting, and refining until repeatability is locked in. What You’ll Do Study work orders, blueprints, engineering/quality plans, materials, specs, OP. drawings; interpret GD&T . Set three- and four-jaw chucks; mount tools and attachments; load stock and set feeds. Perform turning, facing, knurling, threading (thread chasing), drilling, and grooving operations. Inspect first-run and sample parts; verify all settings against the OP. drawing and quality plan. Troubleshoot: measure, detect malfunctions, edit programs, adjust offsets/parameters, and replace worn tooling. Follow quality and safety procedures rigorously; maintain equipment via preventive maintenance and arrange repairs. Log production and quality results; communicate across shifts for seamless continuity. Keep learning—training, technical reading—and proactively find ways to add value. Requirements

  • 2+ years operating CNC lathes and mills
  • Proficient reading mechanical drawings; strong grasp of GD&T and basic math
  • Program editing experience; comfortable with several machine brands
  • Proficiency in G-Code and machine setups for production runs
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident due to ITAR regulations for defense work

Nice To Haves

  • DMG/Mori Seiki NT4300/1500 turn/mill experience
  • exposure to gear manufacturing

Responsibilities
