Precision Surface Grinder - Mid Shift - 12pm Start Time
About The Position
Abrasive Form is a world leader in high precision Aerospace and Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT) machining. We manufacture turbine blades and vanes for many of the largest gas turbine manufactures and militaries around the world. We use high precision CNC milling, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and 3 and 5-axis creep feed and CBN grinding. A successful candidate will be a self-starter, committed to safety for self and the team, hungry to learn and make improvement, a high standard for quality and process compliance, and a team player. Mid Shift receives 8% shift pay and works 12:00pm-8:30pm, Monday through Friday work schedule. Must train on 1st shift 6:00am-2:30pm for 2 weeks. Now offering $1,500 Sign on bonus!
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Able to read job specifications and follow directions as needed.
- Diligent in taking the time to document non-conforming parts 100% of the time.
Nice To Haves
- Experience using measuring equipment such as caliper, micrometer, gages is preferred.
- Must be able to follow direction and maintain documentation as needed for each job.
- Prior experience working in aerospace or other manufacturing industry, preferred.
Responsibilities
- Using a motorized cylindrical brush, operator smooths edges of part according to customer specifications.
- Insert radius in certain parts using a grinding wheel.
- Ensure parts are within the defined specifications to meet quality standards.
- Detailed quality assurance review of work on a continuous basis taking full ownership of the part operation assigned. Appropriately label parts which do not meet quality standards.
- Complete a daily timecard to accurately reflect the amount of time per job activity.
- Reviews operational processes and makes suggestions for process improvements in production, quality and company performance.
- Proactively complete daily asset care requirements and subsequently escalate as needed maintenance issues to the immediate supervisor and maintenance team using established maintenance ticket process.
- Keep work area clean, organized, and free from clutter. The work area and machine must be wiped down each shift.
