About The Position

Under general supervision, uses blueprints, drawings, and/or CAD designs to create models according to established specifications. Creates, designs, and constructs tools and parts in a variety of materials. Performs minor repair on model making machinery. Assists technicians in visualizing concepts or finished products. Inspects parts and determines if parts meet requirements of standards, and specifications. Observes inventory of materials and prepares orders for replenishment, as needed.

Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years related experience.
  • Expert knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of models using precision technical plans, blueprints, and drawings.
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel & Outlook).
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. and climb ladders.
  • Operation of Forklifts.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure to 1/32", dial caliper to .001 and basic decimal and fraction math.
  • Ability to read/interpret blueprints (2D & 3D).
  • Ability to use basic hand tools, tin snips, hammers, hole punch, protractor, dividers, files and power shears.
  • Basic HVAC knowledge (preferred not required).
  • Ability to use PROE CADD/CAM software to create detailed 3D sheet metal parts and models and flat part for CNC punch.
  • Ability to operate a band saw, sheet metal former.
  • Ability to take raw sheet metal and apply basic sheet metal practices to create a formed sheet metal part.
  • Ability to operate sheet metal shear, CNC press brake and CNC turret punch.
  • Ability to maintain and operate large machinery safely and knowing all limits of large machinery.
