Build mission-critical pumps with precision Picture a shift where your craftsmanship keeps industries moving. You review engineering drawings, kit components, and assemble pumps to tight tolerances—then verify performance on test equipment you’ve just set up and calibrated. When something’s off, you dive into a quick “5 Whys” to isolate root cause, adjust, and get the line flowing again. Throughout the day, you follow Standard Work Instructions, maintain a clean, safe work area, and speak up for safety—every time. Where you’ll work Location: Alsip, IL Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30pm-4:00pm OR 4 pm – 12:30 am Training: With training on 1st Shift Onsite role in an industrial manufacturing environment What you’ll do Use manual dexterity to assemble small components with excellent workmanship and efficiency. Set up, run, and adjust testing equipment to sustain throughput and quality. Fit and align components to close tolerances (example: 0.002) and validate operation. Follow Standard Work Instructions consistently. Participate in “5 Whys” problem-solving to drive continuous improvement. Apply IR Business Systems tools to improve processes and results. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; actively report and prevent unsafe practices. Perform other duties as assigned. What you bring 3+ years in a manufacturing environment. 2+ years of assembly experience. 2+ years using precision measuring tools (micrometers, gages, meters, calipers, etc.). 2+ years reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and written/verbal instructions. 2+ years fitting parts to close tolerances (example: 0.002). Core competencies Mechanical aptitude and technical skill with precision tools and machinery. Independent, self-directed work style with strong team collaboration. Clear verbal and written communication; proficiency in English. Critical thinking and effective problem-solving in fast-paced, technical settings. Preferences High school diploma or GED (preferred). Soldering experience is a plus. Work environment and physical needs Exposure to noise, heat, cold, fumes, and chemicals. Lift up to 50 lbs. Kneel, bend, climb ladders, work in restricted spaces; walk and stand for extended periods. Comfortable with heights (e.g., scissor lift). Compensation Starting Pay will be $22.85 per hour plus $1.35 per hour shift premium for second shift. With training on 1st Shift. Starting pay will be $21.85 per hour based on experience. This is a full-time, hourly position. The pay range takes into account factors such as skills, experience, training, licensure/certifications, and organizational needs. Geographic differentials may apply. It is not typical to hire at the top of the range; compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case.
