To be fully engaged in the following State Certified 3 Yr. 6000-hour hands-on training program. The training curriculum will be work-based and provides you with hands-on experience in a structured environment. This program is approved by Mississippi Apprenticeship Program (MAP) which operates under the DOL. Online classes will be mandatory and will be carried out during normal business hours. Due to the significant investment by Tegra Medical and the selected individual, a letter of understanding will be drawn up and signed by both parties. The Precision Machinist Apprentice will have mentor assistance from trained Dept. Lead Tech’s, Engineers, Operators, and work colleagues and will utilize the various operations performed in production as it pertains to training value. The hands-on-training program is designed towards career development and advancement leading to acquiring the skills necessary to operate computer numerical control (CNC) machines, including CNC Swiss style lathes, CNC lathes and CNC milling machines & manual machining. Set-up/Operate and Program CNC equipment and perform any other functions within the department that may be necessary.
