About The Position

The Precision Farming Regional Manager is responsible for executing Midwest Machinery Co.'s Precision Farming strategy, focusing on showcasing and supporting John Deere's Precision Ag products. This role involves managing a team of specialists, providing consulting services, and ensuring effective training and support for precision farming solutions across large agricultural platforms. The manager will work closely with dealership departments to enhance sales and support for precision farming products and services, while embodying the company's core values.

Requirements

  • Associate degree (bachelor's preferred) in Agronomy, Agriculture Business, Agriculture Mechanization, Computer Technology, or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years' experience in an agriculture-related role
  • 2+ years' experience in operating large agricultural equipment
  • Basic understanding of electrical and wireless communication systems
  • Knowledge of database software and computer application systems
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
  • Ability to speak and write effectively one-on-one and within a group
  • Ability to take highly technical information and explain it in understandable terms to a diverse audience
  • Works independently with little supervision and possesses problem-solving capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Recruits, trains, retains and manages Precision Farming Specialists and Optimization Specialists for assigned region
  • Manages regional and company PAES score and develops and executes strategies to attain company PAES goals
  • Coordinates and manages PF training for assigned stores and oversees training for assigned region
  • Provides customer and store support for assigned stores and oversees customer support for assigned region
  • Manages PF wholegoods inventory for assigned region
  • Develops and executes the Large Ag demo strategy for assigned region
  • Works with Account Managers to visit customers to optimize equipment and technology
  • Assists COO in identifying low market share areas to place demos
  • Teaches customers to utilize features they purchased and then demos new features
  • Completes Precision Field Teams for assigned stores
  • Leads internal and external product training for assigned region
  • Uses John Deere Operation Center to monitor machine performance and helps Account Managers analyze data and present to customers in assigned stores
  • Identifies demo equipment needs for Midwest Machinery Co. regions
  • Participates in Expert Connect support during planting and harvest
  • Maintains dealership vehicle and other equipment as assigned
  • Interacts in a positive and respectful manner with customers and fellow employees
  • Ability to work flexible hours and support customers in season as required
  • Maintains and promotes a safe work environment and follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
  • Performs other duties as assigned
