About The Position

As a Precision Fabrication Technician, you will be responsible for the hands-on creation of customized anatomical models, including both soft and hard components, used for surgical rehearsal and medical training. You will work with specialized tools and equipment, adhere to quality protocols, and maintain a clean and organized workspace. Your role will involve assembling parts, documenting processes, and collaborating with a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment to deliver high-quality products that support the mission of improving patient surgical outcomes. Additionally, you may be tasked to create and test a variety of materials and samples according to SOPs. This may include working with biological materials.

Requirements

  • High School diploma with 4+ years of relevant experience, OR Associate's degree with 1+ year experience, OR Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with tools, lab equipment, or precision manufacturing environments; prior detailed assembly experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with precision measurement tools (calipers, rulers), lab equipment, and/or 3D printers.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for documentation, reporting, and team collaboration.
  • Ability to focus on detailed work tasks at a workstation for extended periods
  • Ability to take initiative, troubleshoot, and seek clarification to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, and perform tasks such as bending, stooping, and standing or sitting for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to interpret CAD drawings, technical diagrams, and assembly instructions.
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and medical procedures is preferred.
  • Knowledge of materials chemistry or materials science is a plus.
  • Adaptable, eager to learn new technologies, tools, and methods.
  • Strong organizational skills and a personal commitment to maintaining rigorous quality standards.
  • Top candidates will have precision skills similar to those demonstrated by woodworking, metal smithing, sewing, cake decorating, or similar detailed crafts that require ample hand-eye coordination, the ability to measure precisely, and attention to detail.

  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and compliance throughout all production processes, ensuring an organized and efficient work environment.
  • Assist in the manufacture and evaluation of test articles for materials in development under established guidelines and supervision.
  • Accurately document processes, measurements, and observations in real-time.
  • Adapt to shifting priorities, demonstrate initiative, and apply problem-solving and creative thinking skills.
