Requirements
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience; CNC maintenance strongly preferred.
- Solid mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Sharp troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Hands-on proficiency with multimeters, dial indicators, torque tools, and precision measurement instruments.
- Comfort with computers for work orders and PM documentation.
- Works independently with minimal oversight.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Haas, Fanuc, Mazak, Okuma, or equivalent platforms is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot alarms/error codes using diagrams, manuals, and diagnostic tools; restore equipment functionality quickly to reduce downtime.
- Repair/replace: spindles, motors, bearings, belts, pumps, solenoids, gearboxes, sensors, tool changers, and coolant systems.
- Execute precision tasks: spindle checks, lubrication-system inspections, axis alignment.
- Perform scheduled PMs on lubrication, coolant, hydraulics, chip conveyors, filters, and way covers.
- Inspect for wear, leaks, overheating, contamination, and other early failure indicators.
- Document findings, corrective actions, parts consumption, and PM updates in the maintenance system.
- Recommend and implement PM improvements that elevate CNC reliability.
- Complete basic electrical work: low-voltage troubleshooting, fuses/breakers, and wiring verification.
- Collaborate with Operators, Leads, and Supervisors; provide mechanical guidance to Maintenance Technicians.
- Lead/participate in root-cause investigations and support CI projects that drive uptime, tool life, and reliability.
- Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and PPE; keep work areas clean and organized and report hazards.
- Communicate machine status and recommendations clearly to the Maintenance Director; maintain accurate logs and shift handoff notes.
