Own equipment uptime and reliability for CNC machinery by diagnosing, repairing, and preventing failures across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience; CNC maintenance strongly preferred.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Sharp troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Hands-on proficiency with multimeters, dial indicators, torque tools, and precision measurement instruments.
  • Comfort with computers for work orders and PM documentation.
  • Works independently with minimal oversight.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Haas, Fanuc, Mazak, Okuma, or equivalent platforms is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot alarms/error codes using diagrams, manuals, and diagnostic tools; restore equipment functionality quickly to reduce downtime.
  • Repair/replace: spindles, motors, bearings, belts, pumps, solenoids, gearboxes, sensors, tool changers, and coolant systems.
  • Execute precision tasks: spindle checks, lubrication-system inspections, axis alignment.
  • Perform scheduled PMs on lubrication, coolant, hydraulics, chip conveyors, filters, and way covers.
  • Inspect for wear, leaks, overheating, contamination, and other early failure indicators.
  • Document findings, corrective actions, parts consumption, and PM updates in the maintenance system.
  • Recommend and implement PM improvements that elevate CNC reliability.
  • Complete basic electrical work: low-voltage troubleshooting, fuses/breakers, and wiring verification.
  • Collaborate with Operators, Leads, and Supervisors; provide mechanical guidance to Maintenance Technicians.
  • Lead/participate in root-cause investigations and support CI projects that drive uptime, tool life, and reliability.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and PPE; keep work areas clean and organized and report hazards.
  • Communicate machine status and recommendations clearly to the Maintenance Director; maintain accurate logs and shift handoff notes.
