About The Position

The Preceptor Engagement and Educational Support Coordinator will support the College of Medicine’s early clinical experiences by identifying and cultivating physician preceptors for first and second-year medical students. This position involves community outreach, relationship management, student scheduling coordination, and record keeping. The ideal candidate is personable, organized, and proactive in engaging healthcare professionals and supporting the mission of medical education. In addition to preceptorship, this position will assist the Office of Academic Affairs with general administrative and course support.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of computers, with strong skills in word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to manage time appropriately to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to be organized and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills allowing for building and maintaining relationships with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and community members.
  • Ability to deal professionally and responsibly with privileged information.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
  • Ability to conduct outreach and communicate effectively by phone and in person
  • Ability to travel and deliver recognition and appreciation items to offices.
  • Competent in the Microsoft Office suite, including MS Teams.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • An Associate Degree or a minimum of two (2) years of related work experience, or two (2) years of college coursework.
