About The Position

Fisher Associates is seeking a Precast Project Engineer to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and guide our team in designing and delivering advanced precast and prestressed concrete structures. In this key role, you'll mentor junior engineers, ensure design excellence, and drive innovation across diverse civil and structural projects. Working with multidisciplinary teams, you'll develop efficient, sustainable, and code-compliant precast solutions that shape the built environment. Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, Master's preferred.
  • 10 plus years of experience in precast concrete design engineering for transportation infrastructure and underground structures (utility vaults, manholes, drainage structures and pump stations).
  • Familiarity with ACI 318, ACI 350, ASCE-7, AASHTO.
  • Familiarity with IBC codes a plus.
  • Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred or ability to obtain it.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD & RISA 3D.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute precast engineering and design tasks efficiently.
  • Collaborate with project teams to deliver structurally sound, cost-effective, and visually appealing precast concrete designs.
  • Perform and review structural analysis and calculations to ensure safety under various loads and conditions.
  • Select materials and components for precast concrete production that meet strength, durability, and sustainability standards.
  • Create accurate drawings, plans, and specifications for precast projects aligned with industry design standards.
  • Support cost estimation for materials.
  • Support Project Managers and Designers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of codes, technologies, and advancements in the precast-prestressed field.
  • Promote, utilize and support QA/QC processes to guarantee quality deliverables.
  • Mentor junior staff and support their technical development.
