The Precast/Prestress Concrete Inspector (PCI Level II) position at Bureau Veritas in Eagle Lake, TX, is a critical role responsible for overseeing the quality assurance of precast and prestressed concrete fabrication facilities on behalf of clients, which typically include state Departments of Transportation and construction contractors. The inspector will also be responsible for generating and processing timesheets, billing reports, and inspection reports in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with all applicable deadlines. All reports must be typewritten and submitted electronically to the Project Manager. In addition to technical skills, the inspector must maintain a positive relationship between Bureau Veritas, the fabrication facility, and the client. A client-oriented approach is crucial, with an emphasis on understanding and fulfilling client needs. The role requires attention to detail and a commitment to quality control and assurance processes, as well as the ability to read and understand complex design and fabrication plans. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, is required, along with knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Lotus Notes. The inspector must also be adept at using modern communication tools and equipment, including cell phones, laptops, and digital cameras. The ability to multitask and manage multiple assignments efficiently is essential, as is being a team player who collaborates effectively with clients, field staff, and other Bureau Veritas offices globally. This position allows for remote work from established Bureau Veritas offices, providing flexibility in the work environment.
