About The Position

The South Eastern Special Education District is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Learning Behavior Specialist I. This role requires a Professional Educator License endorsed for Learning Behavior Specialist I and approval from the Illinois State Board of Education for Career and Technical Coordinator. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of successful special education teaching experience, with a preference for those who have special education vocational preparation or career education experience. The position involves monitoring student performance and behavior, modeling good language and vocabulary, and developing effective working relationships with administrators, staff, and the community.

Requirements

• Professional Educator License endorsed for Learning Behavior Specialist I
• Illinois State Board of Education approval for Career and Technical Coordinator
• Minimum of two years of successful special education teaching experience preferred
• Special education vocational preparation/career education experience preferred
• Ability to visually and auditorily monitor student performance and behavior
• Ability to model good language and vocabulary
• Ability to travel within SESE and the community as necessary
• Strong work habits and ethics
• Ability to develop effective working relationships with administrators, staff, school and workplace communities
