About The Position
The Raritan Bay Area YMCA is seeking a caring and dedicated Preschool Teacher with a NJ P-3, CE, or CEAS certification. Join our team in Perth Amboy, five miles from New York City, serving a community of 6,000+ members through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility programs. Under the direction of the Preschool Director, the Preschool Teacher creates a safe, nurturing learning environment that supports the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of preschool-aged children. Using age-appropriate curriculum and activities aligned with our YMCA values of Honesty, Caring, Responsibility, Respect, and Faith, the Preschool Teacher fosters positive relationships, promotes inclusion, and collaborates with a Teacher Assistant and team members to ensure a high-quality early childhood program.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education (or related field) with NJ P-3, CE, or CEAS certification.
- Experience teaching Pre-K children, preferably in a daycare or early childhood setting.
Responsibilities
- Lead age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.
- Create a safe, nurturing classroom environment.
- Supervise and engage children, ages 3–5.
- Build strong relationships with children, families, and team members.
- Track and communicate children’s progress.
- Promote inclusion and model YMCA core values.
