The Pre-Sales & Tendering Engineer is the technical and commercial keystone of our sales cycle. You will be responsible for defining, costing, and proposing Gutor’s highly customized AC and DC Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, associated batteries and low voltage power distribution equipment for critical industrial projects. Working at the intersection of sales and technical solution development, you will analyze complex customer requirements (RFPs, RFQs) and design compliant, cost-effective secure power solutions for demanding sectors like Oil & Gas and Power Generation. Your primary goal is to manage the end-to-end tendering process, ensuring every technical proposal is complete, competitive, and designed for successful execution, ultimately driving new business wins for Gutor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in a Pre-Sales, Tendering, Applications, or Proposal Engineering role, preferably within the electrical power, critical power, or automation industries.
  • Experience with low-voltage power distribution equipment commonly used in Power Distribution Centers or Electrical Substations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical solutions to both technical and commercial audiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel for costing) and Adobe Acrobat Pro for document creation and editing

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) and battery product design, configurations, and application principles
  • Experience with Engineer-to-Order (ETO) processes or highly customized technical solutions.
  • Familiarity with major electrical compliance and safety standards, including NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA (National Fire Protection Association), UL, IEEE, and IEC
  • Fluency in a second language (e.g. Spanish) for supporting projects across the Americas.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze Inquiry Packages: Comprehensively review and interpret all customer technical and commercial requirements from RFPs, RFQs, and bid documents.
  • Design Optimal Solutions: Define and design the final technical scope for Gutor’s UPS systems, batteries and associated low voltage power distribution equipment.
  • Compliance & Presentation: Ensure all designs meet customer specifications and required electrical standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA), and lead technical clarification meetings with clients.
  • Costing and Evaluation: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimations using the quoting tool, and actively evaluate technical and commercial alternatives to optimize the offer.
  • Risk Management: Perform assessments of potential technical, financial, and schedule risks, and formally prepare the required clarifications and exceptions to the customer's bid documents.
  • Internal Coordination: Collaborate closely with Sales, Project Management, Engineering, and Factory Production to gather all inputs and ensure technical scope and execution feasibility.
  • Proposal Submission: Lead compilation of high-quality, accurate technical and commercial proposals, ensuring on-time tender submission.
  • Provide sound technical support throughout the entire pre-contract lifecycle (from Budgetary Inquiry to Final Bid) and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure complete satisfaction.
  • Prepare and participate in the official proposal turnover meeting with the Project Execution team to ensure a seamless transition of the awarded contract.
