About The Position

At CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy, the focus is on patient-centered care within a level I trauma center and academic medical center campus designed to heal the body, mind, and spirit. The facility offers a full range of medical services including trauma, heart and vascular care, emergency services, surgery, maternity, cancer care, and diagnostic imaging. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that impacts patients' well-being and recovery. This role involves leveraging expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care, making critical assessments, performing skilled procedures, and meticulously implementing patient care plans. Requirements

  • Graduate of an RN nursing program, upon hire
  • Registered Nurse: NE, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 5 - months
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 5 - months

Responsibilities

  • Follow the nursing process which includes: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate.
  • Demonstrate a systematic, dynamic way to collect and analyze healthcare consumer data including: psychological, physiological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic and lifestyle factors.
  • Set measurable and achievable short and long term goals according to standards of care based on the assessment by the nurse in collaboration with the healthcare consumer and multidisciplinary team.
  • Implement and/or modify the plan of care using assessment data, clinical reasoning based upon standards of care and evidence based practice, including care coordination, education and discharge planning.
  • Be accountable for the care directly, indirectly or through delegation, following professional and legal standards for delegation.
  • Use a systematic ongoing process to evaluate progress towards identified healthcare consumer goals.
  • Revise the plan of care when needed involving the healthcare consumer and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Document all phases of the nursing process in the healthcare consumer’s record.
  • Primarily work in Pre-OP but will float to PACU and do PACU call.
