About The Position

Advanced Gynecology , a practice partner of Together Women's Health is seeking a PRN P re-Op/Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse. The Pre-Op/Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role includes pre-operative assessment, patient preparation, and post-operative recovery, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and continuity of care in accordance with established protocols and nursing standards.

Requirements

Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in GA.
BLS certification
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a critical care, emergency, pre-op, or PACU setting.

Responsibilities

Pre-Operative Duties: Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments prior to surgery, including medical history review, vital signs, medication reconciliation, and patient education.
Ensure informed consent and pre-op checklists are completed.
Start IVs and administer pre-operative medications as ordered.
Communicate with surgical and anesthesia teams to coordinate patient care.
Provide emotional support to patients and families.
Post-Anesthesia Care Duties: Monitor and manage patients emerging from anesthesia in the PACU.
Assess airway, breathing, circulation, level of consciousness, pain, and surgical site.
Administer post-op medications, including pain management and antiemetics.
Identify and respond to potential post-anesthesia complications promptly.
Educate patients and families regarding discharge instructions or ongoing recovery.
