About The Position

Somerset Ambulatory Surgical Center has an immediate need for a per diem PreOp/PACU RN! At Somerset Ambulatory Surgical Center, we focus on offering a high quality, service oriented environment for your surgical procedure. Our facility is accredited by Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. Job Summary: The PreOp/PACU RN is a Registered Nurse that provides quality patient care using the nursing process, the medical plan of care, and organizational policies. The RNPACU provides safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the perioperative services for all patient populations. The PreOp/PACU supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license in the state of New Jersey.
  • Current CPR, ACLS, PALS required.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Pre-Op/PACU or Critical Care.
  • Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient.
  • Excellent teaching skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) is a plus.
  • Demonstrates creativity and innovation.
  • Must be an excellent team player.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality patient care using the nursing process and medical plan of care.
  • Support patient-family centered care in perioperative services.
  • Demonstrate accountability, professionalism, and openness to change.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and physicians.
  • Implement principles of aseptic technique.
