About The Position

The Pre-Op/PACU RN/OR Circulator position at Pain Diagnostic & Treatment Center involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients before and after anesthesia during outpatient surgeries. The role requires effective communication, diligent monitoring, and assessment of patients to ensure their safety and comfort throughout the surgical process.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current California Nursing License
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• Understanding of principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
• Circulating experience preferred, willing to train
• Previous experience working in an ambulatory surgical setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Assess patients prior to surgery
• Ensure that operative and informed consents are signed and in order
• Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure
• Initiate IVs and ensure that patients are informed about the procedure
• Assess patients' post-operative condition
• Monitor vital signs
• Log all findings in patient's medical record
• Answer patient questions and ensure they are kept comfortable
• Monitor patients for condition changes and report any changes to the physician
• Perform intervention duties in cases of post-operative emergencies
