About The Position

As a Benefit Advisor, you will have the rewarding opportunity to speak with Medicare-eligible participants nationwide in a consultative sales role to assist them in selecting insurance plans that meet their needs. You will spend your entire day in phone conversations with participants exercising patience and knowledge with caring explanations to enroll them in healthcare insurance products. Pre-licensed Benefit Advisors will start at $18/hr. and will have significant incentive earning potential during the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (Oct-Dec). During the Annual Enrollment Period many Benefit Advisors make between $500-$1,000 in monthly bonuses & incentives with our top BAs making $2,000+. This is a full-time temporary role. Our top performers will be eligible for full-time year-round employment based on business needs, which offers a robust WTW compensation and benefits package. Although this role is open for remote work, you must be a current resident of Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Vermont, or Wyoming to be considered for this role.

Requirements

  • You are excited to learn new things, have strong computer skills, are self-motivated and are open to feedback for continual improvement. You have patience and the ability to listen and recognize the needs of participants, even when they are unable to clearly articulate what is important to them. You are able to change your communication style based on the region of the call, the client, and the medical needs of each caller. You overcome objections with knowledge, patience, and understanding, and enjoy communicating with new people over the phone!
  • Participate in a paid, 4‑week exam‑preparation program to earn your state Life and Health license. Study materials, scheduling, and exam fees are covered by WTW. Passing the state license exam is required to enter the Benefit Advisor Training program.
  • After passing the licensing exam you will attend a virtual two‑week training class followed by a one‑week nesting period with your new team.
  • Ability to understand and comply with all agent appointment and carrier certification requirements necessary to represent local and national insurance carriers
  • Experience using Microsoft Office is preferred, with ability to multi-task between multiple screens and windows all while answering questions on the phone
  • Ability to learn new proprietary computer systems
  • Ability to work autonomously in a self-paced, self-motivated team environment
  • Ability to communicate professionally and courteously
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret insurance documents, detailed correspondence, procedure manuals, insurance applications, and polices.
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • During the Enrollment Season (Oct-Dec), mandatory overtime may be required
  • All applicants must have a dedicated, confidential, distraction‑free workspace.
  • The applicant will secure and be responsible for paying their own internet expenses to include the following requirements: Minimum download speed: 100 Mbps Minimum upload speed: 10 Mbps A Wired Ethernet connection that meets upload and download speed requirements as noted above.
  • A personal smart phone or other device capable of downloading authentication apps for secure VPN access.
  • The ability to work assigned shift times, including scheduled breaks and lunches.

Responsibilities

  • Full participation in and progress through a paid exam preparation program and pass your state’s Life and Health Insurance license exam.
  • Successfully complete all required certifications to represent local and national insurance carriers.
  • Support preseason activities by handling outbound and non-sales calls while completing required certifications to become appointed for sales.
  • Spend approximately 80% of your scheduled shift during AEP (Oct-Dec) engaged in phone conversations with participants, while consistently meeting or exceeding established efficiency, quality, and sales performance standards.
  • Use a consultative sales approach to listen to and assess the participant’s insurance needs and recommend plans based on assessed needs.
  • Conduct eligibility and needs analysis to determine suitable plan options
  • Clearly explain the costs and benefits of multiple insurance plans using an empathetic and professional communication style. Make plan recommendations based on participants’ individual needs and assist the participant in the decision-making process.
  • Maintain professionalism and patience with each caller. You will receive scheduled appointment calls along with first time callers.
  • Participate in outbound call campaigns designed to provide an introduction into the participants’ new relationship with our company.
  • Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, diverse call‑center environment.
