Pay range is $19.00 to $23.39 based on experience.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in either Early Childhood Education, child development or related field.
Current RIDE teacher certification in Early Childhood Education (PK -2).
Valid CPR and First Aid training/certification.

Nice To Haves

Special education certification (early childhood) is preferred. As well as RIELDS Foundations of Early Education and implementing a Standards-Based Classroom (formerly RIELS level 2 or 3).

Responsibilities

Facilitate interaction among children to provide opportunities for emotional, social, and cognitive growth.
Monitor the developmental progress of each child through observation and data collection.
Use data to inform and develop curriculum.
Actively participate in and supports efforts to maintain NAEYC accreditation, Brightstars quality rating, RI DCYF and RI Department of Education licensing regulations.
Demonstrate positive guidance techniques with children including redirection, modeling appropriate behavior and praise.
Foster the development of age-appropriate self-help skills in children (diapering/toileting/feeding/dressing).
Create and implement a curriculum that promotes active learning by providing a variety of developmentally appropriate learning experiences, making appropriate accommodations and modifications as necessary using RI Early Learning Development Standards as guidance.
Partner with families to ensure high quality care and education for children.
