About The Position

Ensemble Schools is seeking a fun and nurturing music educator, who is experienced in teaching early childhood music in private one-on-one lessons and in a group setting, to teach part-time with our Montclair, NJ school at Modern Music Academy. Teachers can set their availability within our open hours as needed, but consistency is appreciated by both students and school staff. Preferred availability is one or two days a week (6-12 hours). Lessons are typically scheduled from 2pm-8pm on Mon-Fri and 10am-3pm on Saturday. Successful candidates will have a strong music background evidenced by a degree in Music Education or Music Performance and a demonstrated love of teaching. Must have experience working with children ages 5-10 years old, and the ability to pass a routine background check are a must. Proficient piano and guitar skills are helpful but not required. The candidate should feel comfortable reading, interpreting and implementing lesson plans from a program. Instructor pay is commensurate with experience and will be in the range of $28-34/hour.
