About The Position

Provide a streamlined pre-construction process by working closely with industry architects and engineers, obtaining approved plans and timely building permits, and creating a successful beginning to Habitat’s horizontal and vertical construction projects. Monitor environmental sustainability process for the facilitation of Energy Star certifications.

Requirements

  • Understanding and accepting of the Habitat for Humanity purpose, mission, principles, and covenant.
  • Must have Arizona Driver License and auto insurance at the required State levels
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Proven skills in written and verbal communication, including presentations before public bodies.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Work collaboratively with project team members.
  • Essential computer literacy – AutoCAD, Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint.
  • Strong organization and planning skills.
  • Sensitivity to multi-cultural and multi-economic participants.
  • Three or more years’ experience with residential construction development and/or project management.
  • Experience with the entitlement and building plan approval process essential.
  • Extensive knowledge of environmentally sustainable construction and maintenance practices, procedures and techniques as well as applicable local, state and federal building codes.
  • Familiarity with local and national green building certification programs specifically Energy Star, SRP Powerwise, and LEED for Homes.

Responsibilities

  • Successfully manage the dynamics of the pre-construction process
  • Capable of producing CAD residential plot/site utility plans based on Civil boundary surveys
  • Capable of production CAD conceptual and elevation drawings for special projects
  • Interface directly with architects, engineers, energy consultants, utility providers, and municipalities.
  • Coordinate and conduct internal team meetings, design meetings with architects and engineers, and review meetings with each municipality.
  • Maintain HFHCAZ Lot inventory list.
  • Review and maintain all project documents and lot files for completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate updates on construction flow chart.
  • Assist Grant Administrator with preparing annual construction audits.
  • Develop scope of work for trade packages to ensure compliance with Habitat’s specifications and procurement process.
  • Coordinate Energy Star certification for all new homes constructed.
  • Coordinate LEED certification if required by Habitat grants or sponsorship.
  • Remain current on green building systems and materials to identify practices adoptable by HFHCAZ.
  • Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with Habitat internal departments, Habitat sponsors, professional clients, municipalities, and homeowners.
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
