About The Position

The School of International Service (SIS) Office of Pre-College Programs at American University is looking for a motivated Student Application Coordinator. This role is perfect for students interested in enrollment, program management, and education. Both undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply. SIS pre-college programs, including the High School Summer Scholars (HSSS) and the National Student Leadership Conference (NSLC), give academically motivated high school students the chance to earn college credits during the summer.

Requirements

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student at American University.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong communicator, both in writing and on the phone.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Discreet with sensitive information and eager to learn new skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Excel or Colleague is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain student application data in Excel and the Colleague system.
  • Check for errors and inconsistencies in data.
  • Support communication with students and families via email and phone.
  • Analyze program data to identify trends and support planning decisions.
  • Collaborate with the Director on administrative and analytical tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
