Requirements

• Current Knowledge of: Current Edition of AAPD Pediatric Dentistry Reference Manual.
• Dental school educational processes.
• Restorative and preventive information and technique.
• Education: DDS / DMD or international equivalent; degree earned from ADA -accredited school of dentistry is preferred.
• Certificate or Master’s degree indicating successful completion of an ADA -accredited specialty training program in pediatric dentistry is required.
• Current, active license to practice dentistry.
• Valid CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

• Education: Board certification by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry is desirable, but not required.
• Ability to: Communicate effectively with a diverse population of patients, students, staff, faculty and administration.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Work effectively as a team with administrators, faculty, staff, and students.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
• Demonstrate professional judgment in all situations.
• Sincere desire to learn from and to teach students in all phases of the curriculum, using a humanistic educational model.
• Sincere desire for personal growth and development as an educator.
• Involvement or desire to be involved in organized dentistry, especially organized pediatric dentistry.
