Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a medical setting.
  • Working Knowledge: Medical terminology and medical insurance knowledge required.
  • Must be proficient on a personal computer and have experience with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred some college
  • Previous precertification experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of EPIC scheduling, pre-cert/authorizations, and registration systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • The Business and Project Analyst Reports to the Pre-Arrival Services Director and is responsible for guiding processes, improvement projects, and ensuring optimization of productivity in Pre-Arrival Services by doing in-dept analysis of authorization trends, oversee payor policy and procedure changes within pre-certification department, as well as communicate and validate requirements for authorization changes.
  • Responsible for ensuring efficiency of pre-certification processes.
  • Serve as a liaison between patient and medical support staff.
  • Develop project plans and manage all implemented processes.
  • Assessing skills and identifying training needs of authorization team members.
  • Manage the overall coordination, status reporting, schedules, and stability of project-oriented work efforts, ensures that project goals and objectives are met within agreed upon time, and resource requirements for authorization.
