Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in either a business related (accounting, business, finance, etc.) or science related (biology, pre-med, etc.) field.
• CITI Certification must be obtained within first 3 months (90 days) of employment.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in grant writing, technical review of grant applications, submission of grant applications, medical research, and medical research budget development.
• An advanced degree may substitute for years of experience.
• Knowledge of NIH and other funding agency pre-award requirements and guidelines preferred.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills required.
• Demonstrated ability to use critical thinking to make decisions and time management skills required.
• Flexible and service oriented.
• Excellent computer skills, particularly with MS Office programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Able to produce accurate, high-quality work within strict deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Seek out and track grants that fund healthcare related research activities/programs/capital within BHSF.
• Develop budgets and administrative application components for healthcare research-related projects and programs.
• Ensure compliance with funding agency requirements and application formatting and submission instructions.
• Submit applications for funding agency review.
• Develop and maintain research grant related pre-award resources for BHSF (bio sketches, boilerplates, etc.).
• Enter proposals into PeopleSoft Grants software system for approvals and tracking.
• Follow submitted applications through funding decision.
• Generate awards in PeopleSoft Grants software system.
