About The Position

position works primarily on service truck and lube truck bodies. Assembles and installs prefabricated and vendor issued parts onto the truck according to blueprints and drawings. Primarily responsible for the installation of doors, weather stripping, and components prior to the unit being released to final assembly. Contributes to a safe, efficient and productive work environment. Passes along work of high-quality workmanship.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or proven track record in work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Able to utilize tape measure, square, and possesses ability to read dimension prints effectively.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to maintain a positive work attitude while performing assigned duties.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Required to stand and use hands and fingers to grasp and hold objects, tools and or controls, likewise reach with arms and hands. The employee is required to walk, sit, climb, kneel, crouch and talk or hear.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is also at times, exposed to fumes and or airborne particulates.
  • Must also utilize hand tools, power tools and other special equipment to perform assigned job.
  • Successfully completes annual overhead crane and hoist training requirements.

Responsibilities

  • ASSEMBLES TRUCK BODIES AND VARIOUS COMPONENTS AS SPECIFIED IN THE BLUEPRINTS AND/OR MANUFACTURING SCHEDULE. DEMONSTRATES THE ABILITY TO MAINTAIN A HIGH LEVEL OF ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND FOLLOW DIRECTIONS TO ENSURE VARIOUS COMPONENTS (DOORS, WEATHERSTRIPPING, HINGES, ETC.) ARE INSTALLED PROPERLY.
  • OPERATES AND MAINTAINS ALL TOOLS (INCLUDING AIR AND ELECTRICAL POWER TOOLS) IN A SAFE AND RELIABLE MANNER.
  • DEMONSTRATES A HIGH LEVEL OF ATTENTION TO DETAIL TO ENSURE QUALITY WORK THAT SATISFIES CUSTOMER REQUIREMENTS.
  • MAINTAINS A CLEAN AND SAFE WORKSTATION, MAINTAINS AND WEARS ALL REQUIRED PERSONAL PROTECTIVE SAFETY EQUIPMENT.
  • Works at different work stations as needs require or shifts from one station to another. Able to promptly produce quality work that satisfies customer requirements.
  • Follows all organizational, department/area, safety policies, procedures and directives as outlined in, but not limited to: Maintainer Employee Handbook, and Maintainer Quality Manual.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
