About The Position

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking a Pre and Post-Award Grants Specialist to join the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes. This position is crucial in providing financial and administrative support within the Clinical Epidemiology Division. The role encompasses both pre-award and post-award administration for grants and contracts, as well as financial management for gift and auxiliary funds. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating budgets, managing financial transactions, and ensuring compliance with various sponsor and university policies. The grants specialist will work closely with Principal Investigators (PIs) and the Research Services Program Manager to prepare budgets for a variety of funding sources, including federal, state, and private sponsors. This position requires a thorough understanding of grant administration processes and the ability to navigate complex financial systems. In the pre-award phase, the specialist will assist in routing proposals through the Office of Grants and Contracts, ensuring that all necessary documentation is prepared and submitted in accordance with sponsor guidelines. This includes drafting budget justifications and maintaining tracking systems to monitor the status of proposals. Post-award responsibilities involve reviewing grant awards, confirming budget setups, and monitoring project financial accounts. The specialist will also prepare monthly financial reports, reconcile accounts, and ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements. The role demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines.
