Centralized data, readily accessible support, and collaboration between the laboratory and ordering provider reduce the time to a patient’s diagnosis and treatment. This entry-level lab position is a great opportunity to learn and grow within the field. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, dependable, and ready to be part of a collaborative team environment. A positive attitude and willingness to take direction are essential. A caregiver in this position works days, 7:00am—3:30pm w/on-call requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Manual dexterity to perform specimen handling techniques and to take measurements
  • May require extended periods of standing, walking and/or sitting.
  • Handles and transports bio hazardous materials.
  • Visual acuity, including the ability to distinguish colors.
  • Must have normal or corrected vision.
  • Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as defined in the exposure control plan.
  • You will be required to comply with this program, which will include obtaining an influenza vaccination on an annual basis or obtaining an approved exemption.

Nice To Haves

  • Six months of patient care experience
  • EPIC experience

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve, sort, track, verify receipt of and deliver specimens.
  • Comply with safety SOP & regulations.
  • Perform basic clerical and problem-solving functions.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Communicate and document essential information.
