About The Position

The Pre-Analytical Operations Supervisor supervises the day-to-day operations in the Pre- Analytical Operations department. Responsible for driving success of the Pre-Analytical lab by managing resources appropriately. Able to assist in troubleshooting issues with patient samples and effectively communicate internally and externally. Assessing workflow processes, ordering tests, and driving continuous improvements. Completing employee competencies and performance reviews. Accessioning patient samples information into the LIS and scanning requisitions when needed.

Requirements

  • H.S Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years’ experience working in a laboratory environment required.
  • 1 year’s leadership experience required.
  • Experience working with MS Office Suite, required.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial, and legal information
  • Ability to delegate tasks
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Some college coursework in healthcare administration, business, science, or laboratory related education, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises staff and manages workflow of the department.
  • Resource management through ADP; approve PTO requests, approve timecards, complete performance reviews for direct reports.
  • Supervises training of staff members to ensure quality and productivity standards are met and maintained.
  • Conducts regular staff meetings and uses other formal and informal communication methods to facilitate group communication as well as inform subordinates on relevant matters.
  • Collaborate with the Quality department to ensure QMS standards are met and implement improvements when necessary.
  • Responsible to adherence to annual safety, compliance and HIPPA training.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate and organized competency records.
  • Review all information is accurate and meets company standards.
  • Ability to identify all CAP/CLIA/HIPPA required sample and physician/patient information.
  • Identify missing information and execute proper route when missing information is identified.
  • Assists staff members with skill development.
  • Notify management of any present or potential issues related to quality of service, process or compliance.
  • Accession patient sample information, and physician test orders according to requisitions accurately.
  • Collaborate with Quality Analysts and PAO leadership on writing, updating and maintaining SOPs
  • Support system development and User Acceptance (UAT) to enhance the end user experience and continuity in current processes.
