Pre Admissions Testing Registered Nurse and Scheduler at Center for Advanced Gastroenterology Surgery Center USPI Center for Advanced Gastroenterology Surgery Center is seeking a motivated Pre Admissions Testing Registered Nurse and Schedulerto join our team. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Gastroenterology. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
Currently licensed in the state.
CPR required, advanced life support certification required.
Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities.
Physically and emotionally capable of performing responsibilities of position.
Demonstrates ability to work as a team member and to communicate directly and professionally.
Is flexible, reliable, productive, patient-oriented, and self-motivated.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
He/she is able to identify and categorize each patient's age-specific grouping of needs, such as those for an infant, adolescent, adult, or geriatric patient.
Maintains professional conduct and appearance.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
General familiarity with medical terminology as it pertains to anatomy and surgical procedures for an operating room.

Responsibilities

Plans and prepares for the preadmission of the patient.
Meets all required deadlines. Demonstrates discretionary ability in establishing priority.
Delivers indirect and direct patient care according to established standards, taking into consideration the age and risk factors of the patient.
Possess the knowledge and ability to use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of the patient.
Uses nursing judgment in decision-making.
Acts as a patient advocate in meeting his/her physical and psychological needs.
Performs patient assessment and reassessment immediately upon admission and on a regular basis in accordance with standards of care with documentation of these assessments as a basis for planning each patient's care.
Ensures that all nursing interventions and patient responses are communicated to responsible practitioners, as indicated, and that all components of the nursing process are documented in accordance with standards of practice.
Implements physician's orders effectively and safely in accordance with standards of practice.
Ability to recognize and intervene in stressful situations.
Maintains BLS and ACLS certifications.
Maintains or acquires skills on equipment necessary to complete required responsibilities.
Documents all records according to established policies and procedures.
Assesses information/documents on AdvantX, maintaining patient confidentiality.
Performs effectively in stressful situations to fulfill position responsibilities.
Performs additional scheduling duties as needed by the department.
